Lego has officially unveiled it's Lego Ideas Doctor Who set, to coincide with the release of Lego Dimensions, in which the Doctor will be playing a role. The set, which will be available for Christmas at around $60, will include minifigs for the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors, as well as Clara, two Daleks, the full TARDIS exterior, and the current TARDIS control room. The control room looks solid, as do the figures of the Doctor and Clara. The Daleks look a bit wonky though, and the whole set doesn't look quite as good as the one Character Building put out a few years ago, which was fully Lego compatible.
And frankly, the Character Building Daleks were a superior product (as were everything Character Building put out under the license before it was taken away from them). As someone who has the complete Character Building line, this Lego product doesn't really fill a gap in my collection. That doesn't mean that I won't be buying this one too. I will. Probably a couple. But for new collectors who missed that previous product though, this is a fair second choice.
